I've always loved The Beatles' "Help" because Lennon often said that when he wrote and sang this song, he really was crying for help. There have been some very good covers of this song over the years, like from Roy Orbison and The Damned. However, Tina's version is the most brilliant. When one looks at Tina's own life, she makes this song sound autobiographical. How many singers can do that? Or how many of today's singers can do that?

@SALTYDOG7181 John Lennon meant that statement as a reflection of the rediculous values of society where a rock band had become more popular than Jesus. It was never intended as a boast on his part or on behalf of the Beatles. Both John and Elvis were troubled individuals as indeed is true of all of us to one degree or another. But they both touched hearts everywhere for different reasons. I've admired them both all my life for their and unique contributions to popular culture.

Elvis had a unique talent in that he could take a song from another artist and sing it with such feeling, such sincerity, that soon it was hard to think of anyone else ever having performed the same song!! Interesting note about "I just can't help believing" is that in preparation for this song, Elvis was worried that he would forget the words and in fact does forget them, but being the artist that he was, he made a nearly seamless recovery.

Also we do have a regular election system which is usually called either when the king/queen say it should be (not done anymore though) or when the Prime minister calls it which is usually done now long before as to take advantage of the rules etc and is also done usually every 5 years iirc(and must be done within that many years of the last election).

England is STILL a monarchy, with a (basically) straight democratic vote for prime minister. What I find weird about their system is not that they've held onto the monarchic system, but that they don't have regular elections officials; they basically say "ok.. we're gonna vote for a new prime minister in two weeks.. so.. everyone get ready!"
