@tdelamont tdelamont....as a Canadian that spent a lot of time living in the States as a grad student, i have asked for a rye and water at many US bars. Any rail Canadian whiskey will do....Windsor, CC, Wisers, Crown, etc....those Cdn patrons are looking for just that....many times ive had a been serve bourbon wishing for just a generic whiskey....sorry about the confusion but we canadians are easily satisfied....Cheers buddy

Problem is, true rye whiskey is an offshoot of Tennessee whiskey or Bourbon whisky, both of which are fermented from corn, not rye. The only true rye manufactured here are Jim Beam green label (rare) or Lem Motlow (mfg. by Jack Daniel). We usually serve a generic Canadian blend when rye is ordered. What gives?

@JB655 I have to beg to differ. He's not much of a rhythm player and he'll admit it, but as for technique... he was pretty amazing really. He had a combination that most guys who preach technique don't have and that's soul. BB King has both. Now that BB is in his 9th decade the fingers don't move like they used to, but he's still got every drop of soul left. Check him out in his younger days. @cjoey39 Yeah I completely agree about perceiving sound in different ways, however, I reckon he meant to hit the G# (16th fret on high E) instead of the A, to me this note just sounded out of place in context with the rest of the playing and spoilt the feel of the solo for me. But I guess thats the great things about this style of playing (and particularly in jazz) no note is the wrong note if you make it look intentional!
